After long months of negotiations, Italian apples will be able to be exported to Thailand next season.
The collaboration of all the parties concerned - in particular the producers, through Assomela and CSO Italy, the Ministry of Agriculture, the ICE offices in Italy and in Bangkok - will allow after more than a year of negotiations, to export Italian apples to Thailand starting next season.
The Thai administration has just published the protocol. It will allow Italian producers to export their apples from the next commercial season. The coming months will be used by operators to set up and carry out controls during the production phase, by recording the lists of orchards and processing plants, to be ready to export from the 2020/21 campaign.
"After having obtained the green light from the Thai authorities, we are ready to do everything in our power to make this market accessible to other excellent Italian products such as kiwis, pears, table grapes and citrus fruits" specifies Simona Rubbi, responsible for international relations at CSO Italy.
