Floods in the main Turkish citrus growing region

 

Erdemli is an important agricultural area, with half-season lemon orchards, greenhouses of vegetables and bananas and also open fields of strawberries. While many orchards were flooded, the greenhouses were seriously damaged.

 

The harvest of the lemon is coming to an end and therefore the damage should be minimal for this product. On the other hand, we are in the middle of the strawberry season and summer vegetables are about to start.

 

The damage is still to be quantified.
