Cucamelon: Also known as mouse melon or Mexican miniature watermelon, it is rich in fibre, vitamins and antioxidants. It tastes similar to cucumber with lemon and can be grown at home.
Saramuyo: Similar to soursop, this fruit has a sweet white flesh, rich in iron, vitamin C and phosphorus. Also known as sugar anon, not to be confused with custard apple.
Lychee: From China, it has a reddish skin and a white and sweet pulp, rich in vitamin C. It is grown commercially in Mexico. Its cultivation in Mexico was established commercially in the 70s and 80s.
Jackfruit: Originally from Indonesia, this large, fibrous fruit, also known as jackfruit, has a flavour that combines pineapple, banana, mango and papaya. It contains carbohydrates, protein and vitamins B1.
Custard apple: Of Peruvian origin, it has a creamy white pulp with a sweet and slightly sour taste. It is rich in vitamins C, B3, B1, B2 and A, as well as potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and iron.
