A quarter of Swiss agricultural companies must switch to organic agriculture by 2025

The rate of organic certified Swiss agricultural companies will increase from 13.2% (in 2016) to 25% (in 2025).
Ambitious objective decided at the BIO SUISSE general assembly where the delegates adopted the AVANTI 2025 strategy which will accelerate the development of organic farming.
"Organic is no longer a niche market but is becoming increasingly important in terms of production, processing, trade, consumption and society.With AVANTI 2025 we have set ourselves clear and ambitious goals for the development phase up to 2025. These goals were developed, discussed, evaluated and formulated through a participatory process, "said Daniel Bärtschi, Director of BIO SUISSE at the Assembly of Delegates.
AVANTI 2025 replaces the Federation Policy of 2008 and will serve these coming years as a red line for the activities of the members of the Federation.
The strategy defines until 2025: more than 25% of Swiss agricultural companies are certified organic (13.2% in 2016), the market share of organic products reaches 15% of the Swiss food market (8.4% in 2016).
