Spanish exports still growing

Exports of fruits and vegetables recorded increases in value and volume.
Last year, the Spanish exports of fruits and vegetables increased by +11% in value (10,6982 euros) and by +7% in volume (11.8 million tons) compared to 2012 .
Vegetable exports increased by +11% in value (4,331million €) and +10% by volume (4.6 million tons.The main exported vegetables are tomatoes (+7%), fruits (+18%), lettuce (-3.5%) and cucumbers (+8%). The export of fruits totaled to 6.351 million euros (+11%) and 7.1 million tons (+4, 5%). The nectarines exports grew by +22%, the peaches by +14%, berries with raspberries (+31%) and blueberries (+32%) have the best perfromances.
The EU is still the main customer of Spanish exports with 92% of the total. Outside the EU, exports have increased by 3% with strong growth in Norway (+10%), but a sharp decline in Russia (-10%), due to strong competition from Turkey.
