Auchan Poland hopes to break even by 2008

According to reports in the Polish press, Auchan's operations in Poland made a net loss of USD42.7 million in 2003, up 8 percent on the previous year.
Turnover, however, rose by 9 percent to USD 875.3 million.
Auchan is planning to open one or two hypermarkets per year in Poland and expects to break even in the country by 2008.
Auchan currently operates 18 hypermarkets in Poland.
