2006 kiwi fruit harvest expected to be lower

New Zealand's kiwifruit harvest in 2006 is forecast to decline 6 percent to 309,000 tons. Exports are forecast to fall 6 percent to 290,000 tons. Kiwifruit production in 2005 reached 329,000 tons, a 3 percent increase on 2004's record year. Exports increased 3 percent to 310,000 tons.
