Producing more ginger for export markets

Fiji wants to increase its production of ginger destined for export markets.

Agriculture services have set the target to 6000 tons of extra ginger. A promotional day was held with farmers , to whom training and advice were made .

September is ideal for plantations , leaving several months to ginger for its growth and maturity while avoiding the rainy season . Australia , since opening its market for ginger from Fiji , is one of its main customers .
