French carrot production up 2% in volume terms

In France, carrot production for the 2023-24 season is expected to show a positive variation on the previous season.
A publication by Agreste Conjoncture, an agency of the French Ministry of Agriculture, announces that carrot production for the fresh market in 2023-24 (May 2023 to April 2024), based on data as at 1 January 2024, is estimated at 337,695 tonnes. This represents an increase of 2% on the 2022-23 season.
For the 2023-24 season, the area planted with carrots for the fresh market is estimated at 9,980 hectares, up 1% on the previous season.
