TOMRA bought COMPAQ, together the companies have a unique ability
TOMRA Systems ASA has signed an agreement with the owners of Compac Holding Ltd (CPIC) to acquire 100% of the shares of the company. The transaction will close in the first quarter of 2017, subject to approval of the competent authorities in New Zealand.
"With the acquisition of COMPAC, we strengthen the leading position of TOMRA in the food segment and we will be the first operator to make an offer to our customers for the sorting of fresh food and processed food," said Stefan Ranstrand, President & CEO of TOMRA.
COMPAC, based in New Zealand, is the leading provider of solutions and post-harvest services for the global fresh produce industry. The company designs, manufactures and sells automation systems for sorting and calibrage. Founded in 1984, COMPAC company employs approximately 700 people in New Zealand, Australia, USA, China, Latin America, South Africa, Spain and Italy. Leader in sorting apples, kiwis, cherries, avocados and citrus COMPAC has sold 6,000 of its systems in over 40 markets worldwide.
TOMRA SORTING FOOD manufactures sorting machines and more than 5900 systems installed in food producers, slaughterhouses and processors around the world. TOMRA provides high optical performance sorters, analysis and peeling systems for nuts and seeds, dried fruit, potato products, fruits, vegetables, meat and seafood.
