New record expected for mango exports

For this 2019-20 season, Peruvian exports of fresh mangoes are expected to record an increase in volume of around 27%, setting a new record.
According to APEM (Asociación Peruana de Exportadores de Mango) whose members represent 80% of the exportable supply, the volume of exports of fresh mangoes could reach 210,000 tons for this 2019-20 campaign.
That is 27.6% more than the previous year's 170 000 tonnes and much more than the 204 000 tonnes previously recorded in the 2017/18 campaign.
The cultivated varieties are Edward, Ataulfo, Haden, Keitt and of course Kent with the largest growing area.
