Agriculture control service promises to examine Georgian citrus
According to the latest data, members of Russian agriculture control service plan to go to Georgia with purpose of official monitoring of fruits growing and packaging processes before their importing to Russia. It was mutual decision taken in October 2013 during meeting between officials from both countries. Georgian fruit producers plan to export around 80 000 tons of mandarins to Russian market during the coming season. The main competitors of Georgian fruits within Russian domestic market are Turkey, Morocco and Spain.
