FamilyMart has managed to open over 1,000 outlets in China in 8 years and still plans for a dramatic increase.
FamilyMart Japan has surpassed the threshold of 1,000 stores in China.
FamilyMart, a Japanese franchise, announced it had reached 1,005 stores in China during October representing strong growth as the Japanese chain opened its first
store in the country in July 2004 in Shanghai.
FamilyMart is the the third Japanese retailer and expects strong expansion. Its objective is to have 25,000 stores globally by 2015 (4,500 in China) and 40,000 stores by 2020 (8,000 in China).
