Production of potatoes less important in Poland

The acreage of potato's cultivation diminished in last seven years 50% in Poland. Its production is labor-consuming and greater part of the goods perish during storage.
Producers follow by the consumers' tastes and industry needs, prefer grow asparagus, paprika, sweet corn, broccoli and bean.
In the period of last 10 years total area of asparagus cultivation increased twice in Poland.
In years 2003 - 2006 augmented likewise area of paprika and broccoli (60%), sweet corn (40%) and bean (over 20%).
