Vegetable and fruit production will increase this year

According to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture forecast, production of vegetables, potatoes, fruits and berries will increase again this year.

 

 

 

Harvesting of field vegetables and greenhouses is expected to reach 6.6 million tonnes this year, about 500 000 tonnes more than in 2018. Greenhouse vegetable production will be at least 1.4 million tonnes, up by 38.5% from last year.

 

 

 

Potato production is expected to reach a minimum of 7.5 million tonnes compared with 7.2 million tonnes in 2018. Fruit and berry production is expected to reach 1.4 million tonnes, compared to 1.2 million tonnes tons in 2018.
