Fresh Del Monte buys Del Monte Foods Europe

US food group Fresh Del Monte has announced that it has agreed to pay US$340 million for Del Monte Foods Europe. The deal includes Del Monte Foods Europe's operations in Europe, Africa and The Middle East, plus the license to use the Del Monte brand for processed and/or canned food products in more than 100 countries throughout Western, Central and Eastern Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Del Monte Foods Europe was controlled by Italian food company Cirio.
