Carrefour Group: increase of sales in 2010

Strong growth of the sales for Carrefour Group.
The No. 2 worldwide of distribution indicated an increase of 5.8% of its sales in 2010 to 101 billion Euros.
"In an environment which remains difficult, particularly in the second quarter, Carrefour posted sales growth, "said Lars Olofsson, Executive Director of the group in a press release. "Our plan of conversion is progressing as planned and continues to produce excellent results, "he added.
In France, hypermarkets have seen their sales adversely affected by problems of transport and supplies, but other formats are progressing:
- Carrefour Market: sales are in growth.
- Sustained performance of converted stores to Carrefour City / Contact (409 stores at the end of the year).
By geographical area, annual sales rose 1.5% in France to 41.87 billion Euros and decreasing in the rest of Europe, from 2.3% to 33.64 billion Euros.
Emerging countries are growing strongly: +14.6% in Latin America to 17.58 billion Euros and +14.9% to 7.9 billion Euros in Asia.
