Chilean cherry exports will increase by 2.6% year-over-year

According to the second estimate of the Chilean Cherry Committee (ASOEX), the export volume of Chilean cherries this season will be 72,367,963 boxes (5 kg), equivalent to 361,840 tons.
It is an increase of + 2.6% compared to last season and a decrease of -6.6% compared to the first estimate, on November 10, 2021.
This second estimate is based on the data presented by 94 of the 95 members of the entity.
In terms of destinations, China is expected to maintain last season's volumes, with a slight decrease in volume, going from 91% to 88%, which means an increase in other markets.
According to Cristián Tagle, the President of the ASOEX Cherry Committee, they have prepared to fully comply with the requirements of the destination markets, and thus avoid any setback. He added that the quality of the fruit is very good.
