Situation improves at Kmart
United States
Wednesday 10 December 2003
Kmart has announced a loss of US$23 million for the third quarter ending 31st October.
This compares to a loss of US$383 million for the same period in 2002.
Kmart attributes the improvement to its restructuring and cost reduction programmes, which have seen the closure of 316 stores in 2003, better operating margins and accounting changes.
