Strong growth for Delhaize

The Belgian food retailer, Delhaize, has made a turnover of Euro 21,4 billion, that is to say a 17,8% rise in 2001 and forecasts a 15% rise for 2002. The group's number of stores should increase by 136 to reach 2 850 selling points. Delhaize mainly operates food supermarkets in Norther America (USA), in Europe ( including Belgium which represents 80% of the group's sales) and in South-East Asia (Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore).
