Ahold 2nd quarter highlights

The Dutch distributor Ahold, has announced rising quarter 2 results. Indeed, net earnings have risen 37,2% to Euro 351,6 million. Sales have also risen by 29,3% to Euro 16,1 billion with notably strong organic sales (+8,4%). Moreover, Ahold has recently announced the acquisition of all outstanding shares of Alliant Foodservice Inc., a leading foodservice operator in the USA with 2000 sales of US$6,6 billion.
