Frozen strawberries affected 10,000 children in Germany.
The German subsidiary of Sodexo food will compensate the victims of its toxic strawberries.
Sodexo will send vouchers (for educational materials, books) to the families of 10,000 children affected by the epidemic of gastroenteritis caused by its frozen strawberries imported from China. The amount has not been specified.
After
officially apologizing, Sodexo has promised to ensure future food security and work more closely with suppliers and health authorities.
In Berlin and in three northern regions, about 10,000 children were affected by food delivered to school canteens and crèches. According to investigators, a supplier based in Saxony had infected strawberries used by Sodexo.
