Changes in the No. 1 worldwide shipping company
The group A. P. Møller - Mærsk A/S will split its activities into two divisions: 'Transport & Logistics' and 'Energy'.
"Separating our activities in the transport and logistics of those related to oil and energy in order to make two independent entities to allow them to focus on their own market," said a statement from the Chairman of the group, Michael Pram Rasmussen.
The division 'Transport & Logistics' will consist of Maersk Line, APM Terminals, Damco, Svitzer, Maersk Container Industry, and based on a structure of a company with multiple brands. These combined capabilities will improve the product offering, to reap synergies and optimize operations.
The division 'Energy' will consist of Maersk Oil, Maersk Drilling, Maersk Supply Service, Maersk Tankers.
