Spanish fruit and vegetable exports to the EU grow in value and fall in volume

Between January and October 2022, sales of Spanish fruit and vegetables to the 27 member countries of the European Union (EU) totaled 10,180 million euros, which means an increase of 3% compared to what was obtained in the same period of 2021, according to data from the Department of Customs and Excise Taxes. These shipments represented 80% of the total fruit and vegetable exports from Spain.
In terms of volume, Spanish fruit and vegetable exports to the EU decreased -9% (7.8 million tons).
In the first 10 months of the year, sales of these Spanish products outside the EU
totaled 2,537 million euros, +1% compared to the similar period in 2021. The volume fell -5% (1.7 million tons). These markets received 20% of the total fruit and vegetable exports from the country.
