Maersk launched its first rail service that links China to Turkey (Photo: maersk).
Shipping company Maersk is expanding its ICR (Intercontinental Rail) service network and launching its 1st rail service from Xi’an, China, to Izmit, Turkey.
This new link offers shorter transit time to customers as well as numerous network options. Possible connections to the Black Sea, Eastern Europe and the countries of Southern Europe via the port of Korfez in Izmit.
The company thus wishes to offer greater flexibility in the choice of different rail and sea transport solutions, within the framework of its offers and services which allow its customers to be able to react quickly to changing market demands. .
The express rail service is scheduled for weekly departures every Tuesday.
