Cosmic Crisp® and partners launch “Sweeter Together” promotion

The Cosmic Crisp® apple was developed over two decades ago through classic breeding at Washington State University’s tree fruit program. According to a brand awareness study carried out with Nielsen Category Partners in 2022, national brand awareness has reached 27%. The 2022’s crop is expected to be the brand’s largest to date, with around 5 million boxes shipping on December 1st from Washington State.
Along with Werther’s Originals Caramel and Nordic Ware, Cosmic Crisp® launches a “Sweeter Together” promotion to celebrate National Caramel Apple Month and the start of Fall baking. The combination of these brands resulted in a successful giveaway with more than 243.000 participants and 24.000 subscribers to each company’s newsletters. Over 400.000 consumers were reached through paid social media promotion. Moreover, Cosmic Crisp® and Werther’s Originals targeted the sampling program with Walmart and launched a print advertisement in the Country Living Magazine.
Kathryn Grandy, Chief Marketing Officer for Proprietary Variety Management, the company which markets the Cosmic Crisp® apple, stated that these brands perfectly match the Cosmic Crisp® apple from both a community and content standpoint.
Three winners of the Sweeter Together promotion will prize a pack with Werther’s Originals caramels, Nordic Ware bakeware, Cosmic Crisp® charcuterie paper, and a gift card to purchase Cosmic Crisp® apples.
