In Switzerland, the strawberry season has begun, with a little delay due to a rather wet spring.
According to estimates by Fruit-Union Switzerland, the 2023 strawberry harvest will be good, with a volume of around 7,100 tonnes.
In Switzerland, strawberries are grown on around 510 hectares. According to official figures, annual strawberry consumption in Switzerland is 24,500 tonnes. Most of this consumption volume is therefore imported.
