Avocados and citrus fruits expected to withstand fires

The fires which ravaged Southern California foothills in late October are not expected to have a significant impact on the upcoming avocado and citrus harvests. More avocado groves than citrus groves were damaged because avocados commonly grow in the foothills where the fires hit. But the damage was fairly random and is not expected to have a major impact on the total crop.
