Brazil remains the primary destination for Chilean fruit exports within Latin America region

The current fruit export season in Chile has registered a total of 403,688 tons shipped to Latin America, according to data provided by the Association of Fruit Exporters of Chile AG (ASOEX). Among the countries within the region, Brazil has emerged as the primary destination, having received 91,105 tons, showing significant growth of 36.66% compared to the previous year.
The predominant fruits exported to the Rio de Janeiro market are apples, which comprise 48% of the total shipments to Brazil. Plums account for 17%, kiwis constitute 14%, and table grapes and cherries each comprise 7% of the shipments. Nectarines and cherries both account for 4% of the total sent to Brazil.
Following Brazil, the second-largest market within Latin America is Colombia, having received 77,935 tons compared to the previous season. Ecuador follows closely with 54,901 tons, and Peru comes next with 40,999 tons. Mexico occupies the fifth position with 33,698 tons.
The top five fresh fruits exported from Chile to Latin America are apples, which comprise 54% of the total shipments. Table grapes account for 11%, while pears constitute 9%. Kiwis and plums make up 7% and 6% respectively.
