Vegetables production in the Puglia region, South of Italy
Italy
Tuesday 03 February 2009
The vegetables production in the Puglia region, South of Italy, is getting better after a disastrous beginning of season due to the heat.
Either in the North of the region, land of artichokes (province of Foggia) or in the South (province of Monopoli), both favourable to lettuces and other green vegetables crops (broccoli, aromatic herbs, ...), a too rainy winter did not help matters because grounds were waterlogged which damaged vegetables preservation.
The dry and windy weather of these last days improves quality and boosts shipments.
