Morocco wants to triple its citrus exports to Russia

The Moroccan citrus exporters are considering to triple their shipments to Russiaby 2018.
ASPAM, the Association of citrus exporters, plans to triple its citrus exports to Russia by 2018. Due to the Green Morocco Plan that projects a production of 2.9 million tons by 2018 and 3.19 million tons from 2020.
As well as continued market share gains in a country which has a huge potential. Among the means proposed, structuring activities, a more aggressive marketing, an offer that differs from the competition, the coordination of the strategies.
Russia is the first destination of Moroccan citrus with 60% of the volume exported, far to the European Union (30%) and North America (10-15%). In 2012/13 Morocco exported nearly 200,000 tons of mandarins in Russia, an increase of 52% compared to previous seasons.
