Plachkov offers Italian entrepreneurs to construct terminal for primary handling of fruit and veg

"Odessinform" news agency informs, Fabio Fabbri, Italian Ambassador, met with Ivan Plachkov, the Chairman of Odesa Region State Administration on Monday September the 3rd. They discussed the issues of the cooperation of Odesa region with Italy. In particular, the Governor of Odesa region emphasized that Italy and Odesa region had a huge potential for the further cooperation, especially in the spheres of tourism and imports-exports of agricultural products.
The official pointed out that the region annually had a perfect harvest of various fruit and vegetables. However, a specialized terminal should be constructed to promote agricultural products on European market in order to ensure the primary processing of these products. The diplomat assumed the investment to the construction of such complex might be of interest to Italian entrepreneurs.
The specialists of CIS produce business periodical, "Agrooglyad: Fruits and Vegetables" weekly informs, Odesa region occupies one of the leading places in Ukraine as producer, processor and supplier of fruit & vegetables to the other regions of the country. The region is among the leaders if the production volumes of early vegetables and potato, onion, tomato, pepper, egg-plant, peach, grape, apricot and sweet cherry are estimated.
