Agricultural production continues to grow

In Azerbaijan, the figures for the first half of 2019 point to another very good yearly performance in agricultural production.

 

 

For the National Committee of Statistics, the country's agricultural output reached 4.453 billion manats (US $ 2.62 billion) for the period January-July 2019. This is 6.3 percent more than the same period last year.

 

 

 

During the period January-July 2019, crop production increased by 9.5% to 2.22 billion manats (US $ 1.31 billion). In the case of vegetables, 576,300 tonnes of potatoes (+ 7.9%) and 1 million tonnes of other vegetables (+ 9.3%) were grown in January-July. Melon production increased by 13.5% to 349,800 tonnes, fruit and berry production increased by 17.6% to 244,000 tonnes.
