Imports decreased by 39%

In the first eight months of this year the value of goods imported by Russia, outside the former Soviet Union, fell by 39 % compared to the same period in 2014 .

The Federal Customs Service has published its data revealing that Russia imported goods worth USD 103.9 billion over the period from January to August 2015. Given a decrease of 39 % compared to 170.3 billion USD made last year over the same period .

The imports of machinery and equipment fell by 36.7% , imports of chemical products 29.4% , textile imports by 35.9 % and imports of food products by 29.1 %.
