Rewe starts cooperation with Univeg

Belgian group Univeg is one of the largest worldwide producers and suppliers of fresh fruit and vegetables with annual revenues of 3 billion euros.
The agreement will secure Rewe a means to better track and test products from the farm to the supermarket. In addition, it allows the retailer to secure the appropriate amounts and to stock products by way of long-term relationships between the two parties.
Taking into consideration recent substantial price swings for food products, the group expects an increasing fight for the availability of products. This agreement intends to counterbalance such swings.
