According to recent harvest forecasts in Europe (Italy, Greece, Spain, France), the volume of apricots should record a variation of -6.51% in 2023 compared to 2022.
During the medFEL trade fair, harvest forecasts were announced: apricot production in Europe (Italy, Greece, Spain, France) should reach 503,561 tonnes. That is -6.51% compared to the 538,601 tonnes produced in 2022 and -6.97% compared to the 541,276 tonnes which represent the 2017/2021 average.
In 2023 Italy should produce 203,160 tons of apricots (275,614 tons in 2022), Greece should produce 76,000 tons (75,000 tons in 2022), Spain should produce 98,739 tons (64,793 tons in 2022 ) and France should produce 125,662 tonnes (123,194 tonnes in 2022).
After two very short years, 2020 and 2021, around 400,000 tonnes, the years 2022 and 2023 are average years around 500/550,000 tonnes, but much lower than the years 2017 and 2019 when production reached around 650,000 tonnes.
