Fruit Attraction 2021: Innovations and technologies to stimulate the growth and competitiveness of the sector

The Fruit Attraction fair, organized by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX, will be held from October 5 to 7. This new edition aims to promote the growth and competitiveness of the sector. Innovation, research, technology and digitization will be the keys to future growth. Hall 5 will house the 3 areas of solutions and services related to innovation in the agricultural sector: Biotech Attraction; Smart Agro and Smart Water & Energy.

 

 

BIOTECH ATTRACTION, aims to federate and promote technological innovation and business development opportunities based on innovation. A new specialized field, intended for companies dedicated to research and technological development of plant genomics.

 

 

The fruit and vegetable sector is faced with major issues and challenges which will require an increase in efficiency (higher productivity with fewer inputs), quality (nutritional, organoleptic) and sustainability (lower environmental impact). , waste reuse, etc.) from agriculture which can only be achieved through the application of new technologies.

 

The knowledge generated in applied plant biology offers a set of strategic technologies (development of new plant varieties, genome editing techniques, agrobiology for nutrition and plant protection, waste recovery and circular economy, etc.) which will make it possible to raise the global challenges of productivity, sustainability and quality facing the agrifood sector.

 

 

SMART AGRO, specialized space for companies providing technological solutions in precision agriculture. Fruit Attraction will also benefit from the collaboration of AgroTech ESPAÑA, which aims to encourage and create business opportunities for agrotech. Various initiatives, such as “AgroTech Tours”, will be launched, which will allow producers and other agents in the sector to be put in contact with “Techs” who offer specific solutions.

 

 

SMART WATER & ENERGY which is oriented towards water technologies and renewable energies in the agrifood sector. For the best and most efficient use of water and to improve crop productivity. It is aimed at horticultural producers as well as managers and technical directors of companies which install irrigation systems and who wish to learn about new irrigation technologies. In this space, participating exhibitors will present equipment, products and services integrating the latest technological solutions in irrigation dedicated to intelligent water management.
