Demand for ALPHONSO mangoes is slowing down

 

 

 

According to industry professionals, export demands have decreased by 40% this season. There were several reasons for this underperformance. Unfavorable climatic conditions for production, non-fruitful sanitary requirements in destination countries, and stronger competition with other producing countries in export markets (Japan, Europe, the United States , Gulf States).

 

 

 

For some, the campaign has been one of the worst in years and the situation is not going to improve in the immediate future. Mango producers estimate that export volumes will be lower than those of last year. Unusual temperature variations affecting fruit quality.
