Russia: destruction of fruit and vegetables falsely labeled "made in Turkey"

The advisor to the President of the Oversight Services (Rosselhoznadzor) Alesey Alekseyenko, said that these fruits and vegetables, mainly consisting of tomatoes, nectarines, grapes, apples and peaches, were identified as coming from Greece but fake health certificates designated them as Turkish products. That is why the decision to destroy them was taken.
Since August 6, about 103 tons of products accompanied by false certificates were intercepted and destroyed. Pursuant to the decision by Vladimir Putin, products from countries to which the embargo is applied, are automatically destroyed at the entrance to the Russian borders.
The European embargo against Russia was extended to six months after the crisis with Ukraine of June 25, the Russian government has decided to extend the ban on food products from the European Union one more year.
