Oranges, lemons and mandarins on Russian market in the end of October 2008

Orange went slightly up in the beginning of the week following to little volumes of arrivals in week 43.
South African fruits were sold on 1,11 $/kg. At the end of the week due to large quantities coming onto the market prices went down to 0,99 $/kg.
Argentine stuff had decay and prices didn’t go above last week’s 0,91 $/kg level.
Turkish lemons went significantly up in Moscow to 1,85 $/kg and in Saint-Petersburg to 1,93 $/kg in the beginning of the week. At the end another price correction took place – 1,63 $/kg in Moscow and to 1,75 $/kg in Saint-Petersburg. Argentine lemons went down due to lower quality at the end of the season – 1,275 $/kg in week 43.
Due to the expected start of Moroccan sales the demand for mandarins was good. Nevertheless not much stuff was available.
Argentine fruits left on the same level as last week due to their quality.
Spanish mandarins had some limited sales on 1,85 $/kg level. Their quality was reasonable.
South Africa was not on the market anymore.
Turkish stuff was sold on 1,40 $/kg in Moscow due to being greenish.
The first offers of Moroccan production were on the level – 1,70 $/kg.
