Harvesting potatoes on the northwest of Europe, is down about 17% compared to last year according to first estimates by NEPG.
On the basis of information available today from 5 countries, the total harvest is now estimated at 22.292 million tons.
This represents a decrease of 16.7% compared to last season, and 10% compared to the average over the last 5 years according to the NEPG (North-Western European Potato
Growers - Germany, Belgium, France, Great Britain , Netherlands).
However, because of particularly long and late harvests, there are still thousands of acres to be harvested. Final estimates per country will be published by the NEPG in a few weeks.
