Russia is the best market for carrots from Israel

Russia is the best market for carrots from Israel in the opinion of Heshi Rubin, generalmanager of Hevel-Maon Group from kibbutzim and Moshavim in the Negev western region.
Export of carrots from Hevel Maon in the season 2006-2007 which has already finished, reached 11.500 tons of which 24% was bio carrots.
Sold under Dod Moshe mark, carrots from Israel can be found in every supermarket in Moscow and St. Petersburg. In the past, the Russian people ate in winter frozen carrots because the climate in this country was so hard that it was impossible to grow this plant outside and moreover the Russian living standard was very low and the people weren't able to import carrots. However presently the standard of living of average Russian rose to such level that they are ready to pay for fresh carrots imported from Russia.
Carrots count 16% of total vegetable export in Hevel Maon company.
