Peruvian grape exports grows

In the first two months of the Peruvian grape export season, which began in October 2022 and will last until April 2023, Peru exported 153,557,005 kilos of said fruit, which reflects an increase of 16.45% compared to the same end of the season. previous (2021/22), according to data from the consultancy Inform@cción.

 

In October of the current season, 48,678,129 kilos of grapes were exported, while in the same month last year 34,929,742 kilos were shipped. Shipments in November totaled 104,878,876 kilos, compared to 96,931,425 kilos in November 2021.

 

In December of this season, until the 18th, Peru exported 80,173,355 kilos of grapes, when in all of December of the previous season 162,827,223 kilos were shipped. The source projects that at the end of the month this exported volume will be exceeded.

 

The first months of the current season have been marked by problems such as cargo transportation strikes and roadblocks.

 

At the end of this season, according to the report of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for the month of December 2022, Peru would send 766,000 tons of grapes, while Chile would export 737,000 tons.
