California - Recent cold front tripled produce prices in California

The recent cold front has tripled produce prices in California, but the prices for Asian vegetables remain steady.
Chinatown grocers said that prices tripled for vegetables like celery and broccoli that are common in American cuisine.
In comparison, prices for vegetables commonly used in Chinese cuisine have not gone up because these crops are grown in Mexico or in Southern California, locations unaffected by the recent cold front. Citrus farmers in California's Central Valley are facing millions of dollars in loss due to the low temperatures.
