Strawberry and sweet cherry force apples out of the consumers' ration in Ukraine

The growing supply of strawberry and sweet cherry on the wholesale markets of Ukraine has almost forced apples out of the markets. Rather limited quantities of apples are sold only in 4-5 outlets on the wholesale market in Kyiv. There are no apples of Ukrainian origin at all on this market. However, the supply decline is primarily caused by the dramatically reduced demand of the consumers to this product. The thing is, the prices for sweet cherry and strawberry are lower today than the prices for apples.
It is interesting to mention the observation of Ukrainian agriculture specialists that the sales of apples in supermarkets are still higher than the sales of strawberry and sweet cherry; at the same time, the situation is contrary on the city markets.
