China is the No. 1 market for Philippines' bananas

China has increased its demand for bananas from the Philippines which confirms the number 1 position acquired by the Philippines last year. 

 

 

 

According to Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) data, Phiippines exported 645,333.17 tonnes of bananas between January and April this year. Of this total, China has purchased 532,971.282 tons, making it the No. 1 market for Philippines' bananas.

 

 

 

This volume imported this year by China shows a doubling of the quantities, compared to the 265,836,157 tons imported last year for the same period. China confirms its No. 1 market position for Philippines' bananas, a position acquired in 2018 when China ended Japan's 30-year rule as the largest importer.
