The Spring Festival, the Chinese New Year of the lunar calendar, is celebrated on January 28th and opens the Year of the Fire Rooster.
The New Year is the traditional family celebration in China, which leads to a gigantic wave of travels. The Ministry of Transport forecasts a record of 2.98 billion trips for the entire Spring Festival period until February 21st.
The atmosphere is festive and the celebrations numerous. The tradition continues for New Year's Eve, considered the most important meal of the year for families. Meeting around a table to welcome the new year and wish Happiness, Peace and Health.
A few details, however, have evolved over the last few years. The use of firecrackers and fireworks has decreased for better respect for air quality, city dwellers often prefer to go to restaurants, rural residents have now access to all products.
Indeed, the development of e-commerce and distribution networks in the country allows all rural people to have, at the click of a button, products for every day all year round but also more luxurious products for the holidays.
