Attention turns to demand planning and logistics readiness.
Chile’s cherry industry analysed the latest export season and discussed operational priorities during the Global Cherry Summit 2026, organised by the Frutas de Chile Cherry Committee and Grupo Yentzen.
The meeting reviewed how the recent campaign performed and identified areas that require closer coordination as production volumes continue to expand. Participants assessed results across production, logistics and commercial operations, focusing on how to improve planning and execution in future seasons.
Industry representatives stressed the need for stronger coordination between growers, exporters and logistics operators to prevent delays and maintain product condition during shipment. Improving communication and shipment planning across the supply chain was highlighted as a practical step to support reliable exports.
The use of market information was also discussed as a key tool for managing shipments more effectively. Participants emphasised the importance of matching export volumes with demand and strengthening promotion in destination markets.
Maintaining consistent fruit quality and protecting the reputation of Chilean cherries in export markets were identified as essential responsibilities for the sector. The discussions reinforced that better coordination and disciplined planning will be necessary as the industry continues to grow.
