Screens in boarding areas with product photos to scan. Once the order has been made it can be delivered up to 3 weeks after purchase.
A virtual supermarket has opened in the second largest airport in the United Kingdom.
After opening in the Seoul Metro (our info from 28.06.2011), Tesco has retrieved the concept . The retailer has set up 10 screens in lounge with images of their products and the customer only has to scan the barcodes corresponding to selected products. After
online payment, purchases can be delivered to the consumer until three weeks after the command (or after the trip).
The increasing use of smartphones means this new concept is expected to increase sales for Tesco. The virtual supermarket will be tested a few weeks before its launch at Gatwick Airport.
