EU to review food labelling

The EU Commission is to review its entire food labelling system from 2006 to 2008. On March 10, the Commission published a consultation paper entitled "Labeling, Competitiveness, Consumer Information and Better Regulation". The outcome of the consultation paper will be used in drafting proposals for new legislation. Concrete proposals are expected to be published some time in 2007.
